Infertility & Jonah

The title of my post today is Infertility & Jonah. You may be asking what do these two things have in common.  The answer is not much but according to my life lately they have very much in common.  Our Ladies Bible Study at church is doing a study entitled "Jonah - Navigating a Life Interrupted."  We are in our third week and I have been getting a lot of out the study so far.  The interruption in my life right now that I am trying to navigate is Infertility, so that is how the two are related. I am learning that even though it may seem like an interruption to me, it is really a divine intervention.  God has a wonderful plan and purpose for allowing Daniel and I to experience infertility.  He has already lead me to some wonderful people through my blog and real life that have been an encouragement.

Well since we didn't get pregnant this past cycle, the testing begins.  Monday, January 24th, I will have my first fertility test/procedure done.  I am having a HSG (the fallopian tube dye test... it has a huge name that I have no idea how to spell ) done. The test is going to be done at the local hospital and I am a "BIG" baby with anything that involves a hospital so needless to say I am a little nervous about it.  Daniel and Mama are both going with me, however I found out yesterday that they will not be allowed to go in the room with me due to exposure to radiation. They will be able to be there when I get the results.  Also, I had to start taking an antibiotic today (Saturday) which I am guessing is because there is a risk of infection with the test.  So, if you could please pray for me on Monday, I would greatly appreciate it.  Pray the antibiotic will set well with my stomach because the majority of antibiotics make me sick. Pray that my nerves will be calm and that I will be brave. :) Also, pray for Daniel and I as we get the results... that God will prepare our hearts for what we find out and that He will direct us to the next step.  Pray for God's guidance for Daniel and I as we walk through this process of fertility testing and that we will know the steps we need to take.  I know that is a lot of requests packed into one.  Thank you for taking the time to remember us!

  1. Hi Nina,

I will definitely be praying for you and your procedure. I had that test done not quite a year ago and it truly was not too bad. If you can handle your yearly womens health exam, you can handle this no problem! You get the results almost immediately too which is really nice. No nervously waiting hours or days for the results. I will be praying God's Will for your results. Times like these really cause us to ask ourselves if we really believe that He is good and has good plans for us. Believe that He does no matter what road He leads you down. Love you Nina!
    Katy :-)
