Blessing & Disappointment

Yesterday Daniel received very good news... He got a promotion with a raise.  What a blessing!  God is so good. This will help push along the debt reduction plan even faster!

We took Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University class that was offered at our church and it has greatly changed our life and the way we view our money.  So, since January we have been on Dave's debt reduction plan.  We have a goal to be completely debt FREE within 2 years of starting the class; so by January 2012 we hope to be completely finished.  It is amazing to look back over the past 10 months and see how God has blessed  Daniel and I in our effort for financial freedom.  We have paid down between $8,000-$10,000 (I don't have the exact figures in front of me), it could be more! We live by a strict budget where every dollar is spent on paper before we actually spend it.  And we have learned to use cash more and we never use credit cards anymore!  Through the Dave Ramsey Class, we set our monetary priorities in the right order (Give, Save, Spend), and improved our marriage at the same time.  See the link to Dave Ramsey's website for more information if you are interested in getting out of debt.  http://www.daveramsey.com/

On another note,  I received the test results back from my gynecologist and they were normal. I still a little confused about what he was looking for.  So, that was good news.  And this morning I got further conformation that I'm not pregnant.  It's a little bittersweet.  It's good to now finally know for sure and we can move on to next month but still a little disappointing.  I am still a little confused as to why my body took so long to start.  But I know that God knows why and I am trusting him.  I am giving it to him this morning.
